February Update
Performing, harmonizing, and keeping a sound mind
Hey Vaughtourage! I hope everyone is looking forward to an exciting weekend ahead. Or a boring one, because sometimes those are the best weekends!

Performing live again
I had my first live show of the year on January 18 at Boxyard RTP. It was a joy to be back on stage! The organizers hired a live bassist and drummer. To be honest, I was a little wary of performing with musicians I had never met. But we had chemistry from the very first song! I hope to include more live musicians in my future performances. More shows are in the works!
Hums & harmonies
In my last update, I mentioned I will be releasing a collection of shorter songs this year! The first release is a song called “Chopped Liver.” I love the unique name, but my favorite part is the chorus.
There are no words in the chorus, only humming and harmonizing. I have been focusing more on vocal harmonies since releasing Lift You Up (listen here on Spotify). I am not a lead singer, but I can create harmonies almost immediately. When harmonies surround and enhance the lead vocal track, the song sounds much more full. I love this! They are a key element of my music that I want to keep honing.
A sound mind
One of the main reasons I started writing music was to counter my own mental struggles. I have a burning desire to help others improve their mental health as well. This year, I want to push that goal further. I am planning to reach out to mental health organizations to see how my music can help their programs. More to come!
And if you think my music can help someone you know, share this newsletter with them!
Thanks again for being a part of the Vaughntourage. I hope you have a harmonious weekend!
